We do not make incense. We make the feeling of a specific moment, preserved in smoke.

Every Vāsaवana incense stick takes a minimum of eight weeks to exist. It begins with a feeling — not a formula. A moment we want to recreate. The stillness of a temple at dusk. The energy that returns when you walk through your front door. We chase that feeling first, before we touch a single ingredient. Then the sourcing. Then the blending. Tested fresh, tested aged, tested in different rooms on different days. A formula that works on paper can fail completely in a real space. Then the final question — the only one that matters: does it create the feeling it was built to create? If yes, it earns the Vāsaवana name. If not, we go back. Two months. Every time. No exceptions.

Our promise

No Phthalates

Phthalates are synthetic chemicals used in most commercial incense to make fragrance last longer. They are also hormone disruptors. Every Vāsaवana stick is bound and scented without a single phthalate. The fragrance lasts because of the quality of the materials — not because of chemistry we would not be comfortable naming out loud.

No Harmful Chemicals

No DEP. No synthetic fixatives. No artificial dyes or masking agents. We use Jiggat powder — a traditional natural binder from the Jiggat tree, the same material Indian incense makers have used for generations before synthetic alternatives existed. If we cannot name it confidently, it does not enter the formula.

Low Smoke Output

Most incense produces heavy smoke because of poor quality charcoal used as a combustion agent. Our formula uses just 1% charcoal — the minimum required for an even, consistent burn. The result is a thin, clean thread of smoke rather than a cloud. Your room fills with fragrance, not haze.

No Eye Irritation

The burning eyes and scratchy throat that many people associate with incense are caused by synthetic chemicals and excessive charcoal combusting in the air. Because our formula is built entirely from natural materials with minimal charcoal, the smoke is clean. Burn freely — near children, near pets, in small rooms — without the sting.
